Notes:
Air: Data exclude heliports, stolports (short take-off and landing ports) and seaplane bases.

Road: The overall road total for Canada and the United States includes all roads (highways, local, and others). Canada cannot disaggregate its data for local roads into paved and unpaved, however.

Rail: Data include length of track, including yard tracks, sidings and parallel lines.

Transit rail: Data are one-way, fixed guideway.

The number of facilities for water includes commercial facilities only. CO2 or other is excluded from the Oil pipeline for 2004 to 2008. Except for Major road systems, for which data only include the United States, all the values for Road system length include roads in Puerto Rico. Starting with 2002 data, Transit rail includes both purchased transportation (PT) and directly-operated (DO) transportation. 1 kilometer = approximately 0.621371 miles. Inland waterways number of 40,000 is a rounded number.
