The category "Mexican Resident Same Day Travel to the U.S." includes Mexican resident travelers who visited the border region of the United States (the border region extends 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the U.S./Mexican border). The category "U.S. Resident Same Day travel to Mexico" includes U.S. resident travelers who visited the border region of Mexico. The category "Mexican Resident Overnight Travel to the U.S." includes Mexican resident travelers who traveled from Mexico to the United States and who stayed in the United States at least one night. This category includes Mexican residents who stayed within the border region, as well as those who traveled further inland into the United States. "The category U.S. Resident Overnight Travel to Mexico" includes U.S. resident travelers who traveled from the United States to Mexico and who stayed in Mexico at least one night. This includes U.S. residents who stayed within the border region, as well as those who traveled further inland into Mexico.
